ITALY THANKED FOR ART EXHIBITION
(United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) RUGBY. March 30. The Government last night gave a banquet in honour of the success which attended the recently concluded Italian Art Exhibition, which was visited by over 500.000 people. Lord Parmoor expressed the deep gratitude of the Government and the people of Britain primarily to the Italian Government, and to all others who had made the exhibition possible. It had brought together works of Italian art both from private and public sources, chiefly from Italy, but also from all parts of the world, and the museums of France, Germany, Hungarj*, Holland, Belgium. Denmark, Sweden, the United States, and Canada had generously lent of their best. No fewer than fifteen different countries had contributed. The Italian Ambassador, Signor Chiaramonte Bordonaro, announced that the King and Government of Italy had conferred on Lady Chamberlain. chairman of the exhibition committee, the Golden Italian Medal.
