CHIEF JUSTICE, SIR ADRIAN KNOX, RESIGNS.

(United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) SYDNEY, March 31. Sir Adrian Knox, Chief Justice of the High Court of Australia, has resigned. Sir Isaac Isaacs has been appointed to that post. Sir Adrian stated that, having benefited very considerably under the will of an intimate friend who died recently, he had thus become involved in a business carried on in Australia, and the position thus created was incompatible with the retention by him of any judicial office. Sir Adrian was one of the most intimate friends of the late Mr John Brown. Before being appointed Chief Justice he -was a prominent figure on the Australian turf, being for many years chairman of the Australian Jockey Club.
