The results of the contest are as follows: First heat: Naylor (Wellington) 1, W. Harvey (Wellington 2. Time—B-i 1-5 sec. Second heat: H. Manghanl (Dunedin) 1. The only’ rider to finish. Time —lo4sec. Third heat: W. Kilmister (Wellington) 1, W. Allen (Auckland) z. Time—B3sec. Fourth heat: T. Wilkinson (Wellington) 1, A. Mattson (Auckland 2. Time—B2sec. First semi-final: Mangham 1, Naylor 2. Time—Sljsec. Second semi-final: Mattson 1, Kilmister 2. Time—B3sec. FINAL. Mattson . i Mangham 2 Time—S3 3-s.sec. F. Pearce (Australia) broke the track record, putting up the time of 76sec, I i-ssee less than Spinks’s- record for the. mile. Pearce made a special attempt.
