A tennis party in aid of the funds of the Cashmere-Sydenham branch of the Plunket Society was held yesterday afternoon at the Cashmere courts. The afternoon proved a great success, the sum of nearly £8 being collected. The prizewinners were Miss Melva Wake, and Miss Moreland, the latter having tied with Mrs T. Mae Gibbon. from whom she won the toss. Mrs P Greenwood and Miss E. Bowron wree in charge of the tennis, while afternoon tea was dispensed by the rest of the committee. Those taking part in the tennis were Mrs Angus Donaldson, Mrs G. Fleetwood, Miss Fleetwood, Miss Eileen Nutt, Miss A. Reed, Miss Stewart, Miss M. Scott, Mrs 11. G. W'ake, Miss Melva W ake, Mrs T. Navy League. The General Committee of the Navy League met last night, Mr J. J. Doug all presiding. Present were: Mesdames A. E. Smith, 11. Wyatt, J. H. Hall Miss Cresswell, Messrs H. L. Bowker D. Manson, T. H. Foster. J. Graham, J. F. Studholme, A. MacGillivray and A. K. Anderson The financial statement showed a credit balance at the bank of £lO2 16s lid. A donation of two guineas was made to the funds of the Empire Shopping Week campaign.
