Mr J. O. Jamieson presided over a good attendance. The Rev H. Northeote said that they wished to engage the sympathies of the children and the parents ixa the | work of the society. They did not want merely to inculcate sentiment. For this purpose it was proposed to form a junior league, with branches at Sumner. Kaiapoi and other outlying districts. Mrs W. Millington, organiser of the scheme, gave an outline of what had been done. They had visited a number of schools and had had a very sympathetic reception.
