GOOD PROGRAMME AT THE NEW OPERA HOUSE.

Every change of programme at the New Opera House finds Jim Gerald and his vaudeville company well up to the mark, and the latest production is delighting large audiences. The keynote of the show is brightness. The first half of the evening is devoted to vaudeville turns, which the programme names “ happy ideas.” Most of them more than justify the claim, as they are well thought out, and, in the case of the musical items, well chosen and passably sung. Titles seem to be a specialty with the company, and the second half of the programme is entitled “Nights of Joy.” The company’s conception is a bright one, and affords the audience mugh real entertainment. Right through it is an excellent evening, calculated to banish carking care and send the audience home in a happv frame of mind.
