"SUNNY SIDE UP" NOW ENTERS ITS THIRD WEEK.
“Sunny Sid© Up” tenters the third ■week of its season at Crystal Palace Theatre to-day. and has so far given no indication of breaking up. The enormous popularity of this show has been manifested in capacity houses at matinees and at evening performances, and it still remains necessary to book seats at the Bristol Piano Company. This “Sunny Side Up,” apart from being a very spectacular musical coraedv and chock full of the most haunting melodies, is a most amusing straight comedy also. It is based on that evergreen theme, Cinderella and Prince Charming, and is developed along novel lines, with never a care for the accepted and conventional creeds of Cinderella. It is all the more pleasing thus, and although most of the songs in the picture are already popular numbers, it will be remembered longer for its comedians. It seems reasonable to think that even without “Charles Farrell and Janet Gayor, “Sunny Side Up” would still be a classic comedy. Marjorie White, Frank Richardson and El Brendell are the comedians, and it is possible to see staid people, elderly people, people with solemn mien and people with severe minds, giving themselves wholeheartedly over to the large laughter which is called forth by thte fooleries of these three. It is, in short, a grand and glorious picture. Miss Gaynor and Farrell are heard in some delightful numbers, including “Sunny Side Up,” “If I Had a Talking Picture of You,” and others, while Frank Richardson and Marjorie White are simply immense when they sing, dance and burlesque the best item in the show, You’ve Got Me Picking Petals Off Daisies.” It is worth the price of admission to see this alone.
