EARLY SESSION QUITE SUITABLE.

“ THERE IS EVERYTHING TO BE GAINED BY IT.” Referring to the message from Wellington suggesting that there would probably be an early session of Parliament this year, Mr D. G. Sullivan, M.P., said that this was not contemplated two or three days ago when he received word that the special committee, of which he was a member, set up to collect evidence in regard to specified industries, would probably be called together in February. In the event of Parliament being called for an early session, however, the committee would not sit until March. Mr Sullivan said he was delighted to hear that Sir Joseph Ward’s health had so far improved as to allow him to contemplate attending the Imperial Conference this year. He had a wonderful record, and no one more suitable could be found to represent the Dominion. Mr R. W. Hawke. M.P., said an early session would fit in very well, giving the Cabinet Ministers time to prepare their measures for August This would save a lot of time. Sir Joseph Ward, said Mr Hawke, with his experience at Home and abroad, was the best man to represent New Zealand at the Imperial Conference. He was delighted to hear that his health would allow him to make the trip. Mr 11. S. S. Kyle said that so far as he was concerned he would like to see an early session and was quite ready to go on with the work. There was everything to be gained by it.
