BLAME OURSELVES.

To the Editor. Dear Sir, —G. E. V. in your paper of Friday last complains of cattle going through his gate into his garden. There is a way of preventing cattle going into any one’s garden, and’ that is by buying a good strong gate spring. It is no good expecting a person to shut a gate or door after them, unless it is country people who train themselves to it, and when they want anything done, do jt themselves. People in our days are in too much haste to shut gates or doors. There is another thing that has faded out, and that is the old hat guard. I often see men in the street, and at sports meetings chasing their hats, which have been blown off their heads. It takes a lot out of their hats, and temper, which could all be prevented by buying a hat guard. —I am, etc., BLAME OURSELVES.
