PIONEER SPORTS CLUB EXECUTIVE MEETS.

A meeting of the executive of the Pioneer Sports Club was held last evening-. There were present: Messrs Peter Menzies (chairman), R. C. Symfes, R. Wallace, F. M. Collins, R. R. Parker, P. R. Harman, C. Fisk, C. H. Taylor, jun., and R. Cordery. The Sports Carnival Committee submitted its programme of events to be contested at the sports carnival to be held at the English Park Stadium on Monday evening-. The programme in is entirety was approved. The motor section submitted its programme of fixtures for the remaining half-year of the present season, which Includes the annual inter-club run to Ashburton on January 12, beach races to be held on the North Brighten Beach on Saturday, January 18, in conjunction with the gala to be conducted at North Brighton on that date by the Waimairi Beach Life Saving Club, hill climbing competitions at Cashmere on February I, a “ Scott Scramble ” competition c-n February 15, reliability trial to Blenheim and back on March 1 and 2, track race meeting on March 22, and a social pillion trial on April 5. The programme was approved. Correspondence was received from the Canterbury Amateur Athletic Club announcing its intention of holding a sports meeting at the English Park Stadium during the present month, and asking for the club’s co-operation. It was resolved to grant the C.A.A.C. every assistance possible. A photograph of the first secretary of the club (Mr Everard C. Farr) was received. It was decided to convey the thanks of the club to the donqr, and to have the photograph framed and placed with the photographs of the other founders of the club on the walls of the club house. The cash statement for December, showing a credit balance to No. 1 account of £74 3s 2d, was approved. Accounts amounting to> £29 were passed for payment. The following new members were elected:—Messrs D. C. M’Donald, L. G. Thompson, G. F. Nicoll, F. Ratcliffe, J. Partridge, F. P. Eade, E. G. M’Kay, R. J. Turner, A. E. Hayman, M. Crompton, J. R. A. Scott and P. H. Summerton. ___ 1
