Manager Of Theatre Charged And Is Remanded In Custody

The morning at Paisley bore the hush of death, when 50 little victims of the cinema fire were buried. The corteges were five hours in traversing the streets. I he most pathetic f act was that one of the gravediggers participating in the preparation of the 60 graves knew that his comrades were excavating graves for two of his children who perished in this disaster. Charles Durward, manager of the cinema, appeared at the Paisley Sheriff’s Court. The proceedings were in private. he reading of the charge of culpable homicide occupied ten minutes. Durward was remanded. Bail was refused.
