Mrs M Cawe, Reef ton, is a visitor to Christchurch. Mrs H. Clesby (Wanganui) is a visitor to Christchurch. Mr and Mrs N. S. Falla, Wellington, are visiting Christchurch. Mr and Mrs J. Thurman, Wellington, are visiting Christchurch. Mrs Mills, Auckland, is the guest cf Mrs H. F. Poore, Hereford Street. Mr and Mrs Stewart Mair, Melbourne, are guests at Warner’s Hotel. Dr and Mrs Maurice Louisson left to-day for the prize-giving celebrations at the Waihi School. Miss Margaret Stevenson (Fendalton) is visiting Mrs Paul Thomson, North Canterbury. Mrs Macdonald and the Misses Macdonald (Oamaru) are the guests of Mrs J. S. Tulloch, Barbadoes Street. Mrs James Ensor (North Canterbury) is the guest of Mrs A. W. Andrew, Cashmere Hills. Mr and Mrs W. Pearce and Miss Alison Pearce (Wellington) are visitors to Christchurch. Miss H. Otley and Miss Madge Simpson have returned to Christchurch from a motor tour of the North Island. Miss Halmai Loughnan, Christchurch, is leaving early this week for a visit to Napier, where she will be the guest of Mrs Sproule. Miss Carol West-Watson is in Sydney, on her return from the conference in Japan. She will arrive in Christchurch at the end of the month. Mrs Grey Colbeok, of Christchurch, is visiting her parents, Mr and Mrs A. M. Ferguson, of Victoria Avenue, Auckland. Mrs James Maling and Miss Joan Maling have returned from Timaru, where they were the guests of Mrs Howard Tripp. Mrs A. Bourn, of Christchurch, is paying a visit to Mrs S. R. Turnbull,, of New Plymouth, before leaving for Auckland, where she will reside in future. Miss Thelma Cusack, Burwood, left by the Maori on Monday evening for the North Island, where she will be the guest of Mrs E. B. Barnes, Matamata. Amongst guests at Warner’s Hotel are:—Mrs G. Wright (Auckland), Mr 6 J. A. Blaikie and Miss Blaikie (Gore), Mrs Tomlinson (Oamaru) and Miss Horrowell and Mrs Gower (Hamilton). Admiral of the Fleet Earl Jellicoe and Countess Jellicoe have taken up their residence at their new London house, 19, Prince’s Gardens, Kensington. No. 40, Prince’s Gardens, was once the town house of the Chamberlains in the days of the mighty “Joe." The latest arrivals at the Hotel Federal include:—Mr J. R. Bruce (Timaru), Mrs F. Beamsley (Seddon), Misses M'Grigor, Mr J. Golightly, Mr R. Dobbie (Wellington), Miss M, Porter (Whangarei), Mr G. Armstrong (Akaroa), Miss G. Moore (Christchurch), Mr Shand (Timaru), Mr A. Barnett (Morven), Mr John Brown (Lowcliffe), Mr R. Wild (Hokitika), Mr P_ R. Talbot (Timaru), Mr J. Boyd (Kaikoura), Mr J. Carr (Methven), Mr J. Gow (Timaru), Mrs Buckeridge (Blenheim). The annual banquet of the Addington Mothers’ Union was largely attended. Addresses were given by Mrs Burley, Mrs Liversedge and the Rev A. Liversedge. Items were given by Mesdames Fehsenfeld, Nuttall, Streetly, Young, Mackie and Ford. The Misses Elene Kerr, Nessie Ford, Marjory Trevor-Smith, Eunice Woods and Joan Butcher. Presentations were made to Mrs Burley (president), Mrs Liversedge, Mrs Ford, Mrs Chapman and the Rev A. Liversedge (vice-presi-dents), Mrs M’AUaster (treasurer), Mrs Trußttum (tea secretary) and Mrs Butcher (secretary).
