BOWLING.

RINK TOURNEY HELD AT SUNNYSIDE GREEN. The annual Anniversary Day sports were held at Sunnyside -Mental Hospital yesterday, the principal attraction being the rmk tournament on the bowling green, which was in particularly good tion r aS a result °f s P e ci&l preparai^ ixteen rin ks, representing twelve difterent clubs, took part in the tourna--1 went, and five games were played. A time limit had been fixed for each round. An Edgeware rink, consisting of Munn, Matson, West and Efford, won the tournament. This rink won all their games. The tournament was one of the most successful yet held at Sunnyside, and it is expected that a fairly substantial sum will be realised for the Christmas Cheer h und for the patients in the institution. In addition to bowls, cricket and tennis were played, each person taking part paying an entry fee which went towards the fund. There was also an ice-cream stall and shooting gallery, at which good business was done, and a number of guessing competitions were held. The weather was dull but fine during the morning, and in the afternoon the sun shone brightly at intervals. The visiting players were welcomed by Mr Rose, vice-president of the Sunnyside Bowling Club, who said that it was very gratifying to find the great interest taken in the fixture. So many entries had been received for the bowling tournament that it was not possible to accept them all.
