FOOTBALL OFFICIALS FINED FOR SELLING LIQUOR AT SOCIAL.

Holding that the club had no right to supply alcoholic drink to those who paid for admission to a football social, Mr Wyvern Wilson, S.M., to-day imposed a fine of £2 each on the president and secretary of the Gordonton Football Club. They pleaded guilty to selling liquor without a license, the supplying of liquor as part of an entertainment being legally construed as selling.
