CARRIERS’ PASSENGERS.
To the Editor. Dear Sir,—ls a carrier allowed to take his friends out for a picnic on Sundays or holidays (not making any charge) without having a passenger license ? I have a friend, whose heavy traffic license enables him to carry a load of li tons.—l am, etc., INQUIRER. The matter is likely to be tested in the Courts early in January as a result of information laid in respect to Carnival Week. The position is not clear. Passengers carried by a licensed carrier, whether they pay a fare or not. are presumed to be covered by compulsory insurance, and the number of passengers to be permitted varies according to the license fee.—Ed. “Star.”
