HOME SERVICE ASSOCIATION.
The Home Service Association has decided to inaugurate a training schpol for domestic service next year. A definite scheme of training has been drawn up. giving plenty of scope for tho.se wishing to benefit by the scheme. Those wishing to avail themselves oi the opportunity will be placed in hostels or other suitable positions for the purpose of obtaining preliminary training, passing on from these to the Technical Hostel for examination. After examination diplomas will be awarded to the successful candidates. Already names of prospective trainees have been handed in to the committee. The expense of training will be reduced to a minimvim and a small salary will be paid to the trainee during her course. A member of the? committee reported that she had attended the meeting of ladies called to form a women’s branch of the Farmers’ Union, and that, having given those present some account of the Home Service Association, it had been decided to leave the matter of sending temporary housekeepers, etc., to country homes to the Home Service Association.
