When S. M’Laughlan, of the Working Men’s Club, scored 58 in twelve hits the other day, he treated the spectators to a quick succession of thrills. Three balls were hit for sixes clean over the Methodist Church next to Sydenham Park, and two more sixes landed in Stanley Street. Seven shots went for four apiece. Oft the fourteenth ball, M’Laughlaii was bowled after batting for but nineteen minutes.
