COMMITTEE REFUSES TRANSFER OF LICENSE.

'Per Press Association. PALMERSTON N., December 6. The Licensing Committee to-day heard an application by Harry Burrows for the removal of the license of the Post Office Hotel, which was recently partly destroyed by fire, and the site which has been acquired for a new theatre, to a site in King Street. The chairman stated that the committee considered that the proposed site was unsuitable and also * that another hotel was not required in the neighbourhood. The application was refused.
