Richardson, chief engineer of the Hinemoa. passed through Christchurch this morning on his way to join his ship at Bluff. Alderman W. West, of Croydon, England, is at pre-sent on a visit to Wellington, having arrived in New Zealand by the lonic^. Mr and Mfs Henry Wood, who have been to England, returned to Christchurch this morning after having spent two years abroad. His Grace Archbishop Redwood arrived in Christchurch this morning. He is a guest at St Mary’s Presbytery. Manchester Street. To-morrow, the Archbishop will bleks and Open tha new chapel at St Bede’s College. Mr A. G. Thompson, has been appointed choirmaster at Knox Church, vice Air W. H. Dixon, who recently resigned. Mr Thompson was for a time conductor of the Royal Musical Societv and choirmaster at the Trinity Congregational Church, prior to his leaving on a visit to the Old Country. Air G. W. Hutchispn. of Auckland, who wag recently e’.ected president of the New Zealand branch of the Australian Institute of Secretaries, has been elected president of the Institute lor the ensuing year. Mr Hutchison is representing New Zealand at the biennial conference of the Institute in Sydney. Air C. N. Draper, who is going Home early ui the New Year, has resigned his eosition as manager of the Dunedin ranch of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, LimitedAir J. A.
