MR GOULD'S PROPOSAL FOR SQUARE DISCUSSED.

A meeting of the Save the Square Committee was held y-esterday after noon for the purpose of considering the suggestions made by the chairman (Air George Gould) regarding the future lay’-out of Cathedral Square. The meeting was not open to the newspapers and no report was made avail able, but it is understood that complete unanimity was reached on certain mat ters which will be later referred to a meeting of the Combined Committee. The Mayor, the Rev J. K. Archer, stat ed last night that it was not his in tention to call a meeting of the Com bined Committee until after the City Council considers the report on the Cathedral Square question. This report will come before the council at a special meeting next Monday night.
