BOYS DROWNED WHILE FISHING.

LEAKY PUNT SANK IN STIRLING LAGOON. Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, October 28. Arthur Algie, aged twelve, and Douglas Hayward, aged twelve, two members of a party of four who were fishing in a lagoon at Stirling on Saturday afternoon, were drowned when a leaky, flat-bottomed punt sank in ten feet of water. Stephen Algie, fifteen, and Archie Hanly, twelve, were thrown clear of the punt. Stephen Algie was the only member of the party who could swim. Fie got Hanly ashore. Hayward’s body was recovered, but efforts at resuscitation proved unavailing.
