MOUNT PLEASANT GARDEN PARTY.
The picturesque grounds of “ Stony* croft," Mr A, Morten’s home on Mount Pleasant, presented a busy scene on Saturday afternoon, when a garden party, in aid of the Mount Pleasant School, was held. The different stalls were arranged in sheltered parts of the garden, and afternoon tea was served on the verandah. During the afternoon the Y.M.CA. orchestra provided a musical programme. The stalls were prettily decorated, and as a result of the efforts of those who had organised the fair, a sum of £BS was raised. Following is a list of the stallhold Sweets Stall—Mrs Hart, Mrs Truscott and Miss Hughes. Produce Stall—Mrs Ross, Mrs Burgess and Mr Cook. Afternoon tea—Mrs Salt, Mrs Kicholls, Mrs Pearce, Mrs Edmonds, Miss Riley and Miss Salt. Surprise packet—Messrs Worrall, Salt and Page. Chocolate throw—Mr Scott and Mr Thomas. Hoop-la—Mr Timbrell and Mr C. Hart. Bran tubs—Mrs Timbrell and Miss Williams. Work stall—Mrs Yorston, Miss Morgan and Mrs Foster. Barrow stalls—Mrs Cook. Cake stall—Mrs Williams, Mrs Scott Mrs Ilollobon. Putting competition—Mr G. H. Congreve. Soft drinks and ice-cream—Mrs H. Worrall, Mrs E. Woodford, Mrs G. 11. Congreve. Flower stall—Mr and Mrs Webb. Dart throwing—Masters R. Harris, G. de Thier, I. Thomas.
