BRIDE-ELECT HONOURED.

A very pleasant evening was spent at the St John Ambulance rooms, Worcester Street, when the Christchurch nursing division gave a “kitchen evening” for Miss Rita Pyne in honour of her approaching marriage. Games, competitions, and dancing were the order of the evening. Songs were contributed by Mrs Kennedy, and a pianoforte solo by Miss Ellen Lester. Mrs Price played the music for the dances.

During the evening Mrs Bishop, lady corps superintendent, made a happy little speech, in which she referred to Miss Pyne’s sterling qualities as a nursing sister After supper, the gifts were opened by Miss Pyne and a good deal of merriment ensued. The singing of "Auld Lang Syne” brought a very enjoyable evening to a close.
