SEVEN SCARLET FEVER CASES WERE REPORTED DURING LAST WEEK.

Six cases of scarlet fever were notified as having occurred in the Canterbury Health District last week. One case was notified from the West Coast. There were eight cases of tuberculosis in Canterbury and one on the West Coast. Fifteen notifications of pneumonia and three of diphtheria were made in Canterbury. Other cases notified in Canterbury were:—Enteric fever, one; puerperal sepsis, one; erysipelas, one: eclampsia, one; cerebro spinal meningitis, one and opthalmia neonatorum one, making a total of 41 cases in the two districts. Pneumonia was the cause of three deaths, enteric fever of two deaths, and diphtheria of one death.
