UNEMPLOYED FIGURES.
To the Editor. Dear Sir,—What authority or right have the committee in charge of the relief measures for the unemployed to prohibit the publication of the number of registrations? It looks very much like a belated attempt to prevent the public learning how badly the powers that be failed in not realising the seriousness of the position and dealing with it months ago in accordance with the election promises, instead of leaving it until practically compelled to take action.—l am, etc., A.G.
