Wakefield only received £IOO,OOO. Dixon promised to remit £200,000 early in September and to in vest the balance, but failed to do so. Albert Cutterbuck, City Treasurer of Gloucester, gave evidence that the Cor potation and General Securities issued in January a £500.000 loan on behalf of Gloucester, which was to receive the money in instalments, but not to pay the expenses of the issue.
