EVOLUTION OF THE ARMY.—Cavalry is now mechanised! In April, 1926, the famous cavalry regiment the 11th Hussars bade farewell to horses as a means of locomotion and used petrol propelled vehicles. The photograph, taken during manoeuvres at Aldershot, August 23, shows the comfort of the small cars as compared with the former trials of the open saddles.
