DANCE AT SUMNER.
A successful children’s fancy dress was held in the Convent School, Euston Street, Sumner, on Thursday evening:. The hall was prettily decorated and the many children present danced and romped gaily until a late hour. Prizes for fancy costumes were awarded as follow:—Most original, girls, Joan Carter (Ashes of Roses), Roma Reid (Jazz Pierrette) ; boys, Harold Harvey (Tarzan), Frank Harvey (Bolshevik). Most effective, girls, Payiilla Smith (Cherry Ripe), Phyllis Burns (Boy Blue); boys, Arthur Claydon (Djftch Boy), Ivan Gough (Yellow .and Black Pierrot) ; Special prizes, Molly and Joe O’Bierne (Follies), Billy Islierwood (Pirate), Frank Murphy (Chinaman ), Eileen Kilkenny (Pierrette). Others in fancy costume were: Trixie Cheshire (Pierrette), Mary Fox, Mary Smith (Marguerite Daisy), Molly Riley (Shepherdess), Peggy Newman (Spanish Lady), Molly Bassett (Indian Girl), Joan Bassett (Red Riding Hood), Pat Ellison (Gipsy), Ngaire Glackin (Pierrette), Dorothy Clephane (Old Fashioned Lady), Kathleen O’Neil (Sunbeam), Betty O’Neil (Ruination), Tilly Wislang (Tennis Girl), Barbara Isherwood (Jockey), Gordon Carter (Odds and Ends), Daphne Carter (Christmas Tree), Eddie Carter (Ice Cream), Winnie Murphy (Tulip), Jim Newman (Father Christmas), Ernie Wislang (My Favourite Comic). Arthur Claydon (Dutch Boy), Jack Hickman (Cricketer), Dick Dickson (Cowboy), Max Cheshire (Hobo), Hazel Horan (Myself), Phyllis Harvey (Harem Lady), Dorothy Ward (Butterfly), Mary Burns (Shamrock).
