EPISCOPAL CHURCH OF U.S. REVISES ITS PRAYER BOOK.

WOMAN DOES NOT NOW OBEY, OR HER HUSBAND ENDOW WITH GOODS (United Press Assn.—By Electrlo Telesrraph—Copyright.) (Received October 11, 9.20 a.m.) NEW YORK. October 10. The new Prayer Book of the Protestant Episcopal Church, revised for the first time since 1892, has been announced for publication. Changes in the marriage service, which have been discussed for a long time, include the omission of the woman’s promise to obey her husband and the man in giving the ring no longer says, “ With all my worldly goods I thee endow.” There are many changes in the service for the visitation of the sick and phrases linking the patient’s illness with God’s wrath are absent.—United Service.
