GOLF.

MISS BEADEL WINS WELLINGTON TITLE. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, October 10. The tournament to decide the Wellington provincial ladies' golf championship was held on the Heretaunga links to-day, when Miss Beadel, of Christchurch, took the honour by defeating Miss Culling, of Auckland, by 3 up and 1 to play. The gallery of about a hundred werie not treated to a high-class display, as both ladies appeared to be stale after their strenuous games at the New Zealand championship tourney at Christchurch, and they did not play anything like up to their ’.ustomary form. Though both drove long balls off the tees, their direction was not of the best and neither could handle her putter with anything like accuracy. The weather was the best which bad been experienced during the tournament. The fairways and greens were in tip-top condition.

In the semi-finals, Miss Beadel beat Miss M’Clure 3 and 2, and Miss Culling beat Miss Chrystall at the nineteenth.

Miss M’Clure was apparently not playing up to her best form, her putting being generally weak. The game between Miss Culling and Miss Chrystall was very keenly contested, going to the nineteenth hole, but there were no outstanding incidents.

In the 'final Miss Beadel was one up at the torn, and thence forward Miss Culling won only one hole, the fourteenth, the tenth, twelfth, fifteenth and sixteenth being halved. Miss Beadtel won at the seventeenth, 3 up and l to play. ____________ HAGLEY CLUB. As the presentation of prizes takes place after this game, players are asked to start early. HAREWOOD LADIES’ CLUB.
