PLUNKET SOCIETY.
The monthly committee meeting of the Papanui sub-branch of the Plunket Society was held in St Paul’s Schoolroom. There were present Mrs L. M. Wilson (in the chair), and Mesdames L. R. Corsbie, E. E. Heywood, F. B. Wright, R. J. Lyon, J. Poulsen, J. R. Burt, E. A. Smith, Roy Mathews, H. N. Talbot, W. H. Meddings, W. R. Lascelles, H. Wyatt and L. C. Sisson. Mrs Wilson welcomed Mrs G. Holford as a new member of the committee. A vote of thanks was passed to Mrs Leicester Matson for organising a dance and bridge evening, the proceeds from which augmented the sub-branch’s funds by £lB 10s. The sum of £26 5s was the result of a jumble sale organised by the committee. For the Papanui room Nurse Maclean reported: Adults 193, babies 162, pre-school children 56, new cases 5. Subscriptions were received from Mesdames J. B. Jordan, A. Davidson, T. N. Moore, N. S. Payne, D. B. Cummings, J. Donahue, S. Balfour, E. L. Cordery and M. Furneaux.
