From 4QG, Sunday Night. Advice has been received that Mt Rex Harrison, son of Mr Harrison Frances Avenue, has been engaged to give a song recital from 4QG, Brisbane, to-morrow evening, and on the two following Sunday evenings during that

station’s after-church concert msions. Mr Harrison is scheduled to appear beiore the “mike' 'at 4QG from ll p.m. (NZ. time). He was on the air last Sunday evening. but conditions were not favourable for clear reception here. Firsi of all, connect up your 8.-D. in the normal manner, except that you (ll re , move the earth connection either from the 8.-D. or from the short wave—you must not have both connected otherwise you will “short" your “A " battery. and (2) disconnect the “B" battery lead to the 8.-D. detector valve. Next, connect up the “Iqu Box " to the 8.-D.'s "A" and “B" batteries in the normal way. Remove the R.F., detector and first AF. valves from the 8.-D. Now obtain a valve base from a " dud " valve and sollu a. suitable length of flex to. the P prong of the valve base. Insert this base in the socket of the 8.-D.’s first audio stage and connect the free end of the flex lead therefrom to the terminal nearest to the front on the right ham: side of the baseboard of the Junk Box set—«he terminal that is connected :9 the plate of the J.B.'s audio valve.
