MONEY IS STILL BEING RECEIVED FOR RELIEF FUND.

MAYOR'S FUND TOTALS OVER £6767 TO-DAY. Subscriptions are still being received freely by the Mayor (the Rev J. KArcher) for the Earthquake Relief Fund, and the total this morning had risen to £6767. The following are the latest amounts acknowledged.

“ STAR ” RELIEF FUND. Reports from Nelson and the West Toast show that, in addition to loss of life, there has been widespread damage to property in both town and country. Funds will be needed to make good the losses of residents in the area of the disaster, and an appeal is therefore made to the generosity and sympathy of the public. Subscriptions will be received at the office of New Zealand Newspapers. Christchurch, and will be acknowledged in the “Star.” New Zealand Newspapers, Limited, the proprietors of the “Star,” have decided to open the list with a subscription of £3OO. The following further subscriptions are acknowledged :
