WEIRD WIRELESS WANTS.
The “SOS” room at the British broadcasting headquarters—Room of Despairing Hope—has its humourous moments. Xot long ago a woman telephoned that she had lost her counterpane. It had been blown out of the bedroom window. and she couldn't trace it anywhere. Could she have an “SOS”? A girl rang up to say she had arranged to go to a Charleston ball, and that her partner had fallen ill at the last moment. Would the 8.8. C. broadcast for another partner? Nothing could so easily have lent itself to becoming ridiculous as the " S O S ”
