NELSON FEELS MORE SHOCKS.
NO COMMUNICATION YET WITH BULLER GORGE. (Special to the “ Star.”) NELSON, June 18. Earthquake. tremors continued during last night and this .orning, though the shocks were not of very great severity. The community has had a most trying experience. Some of the business premises suffered severely and extensive repairs will be necessary. ommunication beyond Owen Junction, in the Buller, is still blocked and it is likely to be some time before it is renewed. TELEGRAPH LINES DOWN IN GORGE. Per Press Association. WELLINGTOxN. June 18 The acting Secretary of the General Post Office states that the Chief Postmaster at Nelson reports as follows.— “ There are numerous line interruptions between Glenhope and Murchison, and a line gang left Nelson early this morning to deal with the matter. Anticipating that numerous Press reports will be lodged at the Glenhope office, arrangements have been made to provide an extra staff and apparatus there to meet the expected pressure of *.elegraph business.” QUAKE NEWS CONTINUED ON INSIDE PAGES.
