(United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) (Received June 17, 11.30 a.m.) MELBOURNE, June 17. The suspension of W. Harvey from office has been removed and the penalty imposed on him by the UnderTreasurer has been reduced.—Australian Press Association.

On June 6 the hearing commenced in Melbourne of an appeal by W. C. Harvey, custodian of expropriated properties in New Guinea and Federal Trustee, against the decision of the Secretary to the Treasury arising out of charges of misconducted in an official position. Harvey’s salary of £9OO had been reduced to £7OO following his suspension.
