Mr Justice Frazer, president of the Arbitration Court, is staying at W arner’s Hotel. The Mayor (the Rev J. K. Archer) returned on Saturday from Wellington, where he attended a meeting of the executive of the Municipal Association. The Governor-General has approved the award of the Colonial Auxiliary Forces Officers' Decoration to Lieuten-ant-Colonel S. J. E. Closey, M.C., Waikato Regiment. Mr J. S. Neville, Town Clerk, who, in his capacity of City Sinking Fund Commissioner, attended the meeting in Wellington on Frida yof the executive of the Municipal Association, returned to Christchurch on Saturday. The Rev W. F. Stent, vicar of St Luke’s. Greytown. will shortly be transferred to the Carterton parish, says the ‘‘Wairarapa Lady News, and it is understood that the Rev W. Raine, of St Mark’s, Carterton, will be transferred to the Eastbourne parish, Wellington. Mr A. M. Cameron, of the Dunedin railway goods department, has been appointed station master at Springfield, in place of Mr C. A. Undrill who has been transferred to Auckland.
Mr Justice Blair will leave Auckland for Wellington on June 23 to attend the sittings of the Appeal Court. It is probable that his Honor will thereafter be permanently stationed in Wellington. Dr Roy Harman, officer in charge of the research department of the Colonial Sugar Refining Company, Sydney, is visiting Hamilton. A pupil at the Harr ilton fiigh School five years ago, Dr Harman concluded a brilliant career by attaining his degree of Doctor cf Science in London.
