[ Street, of London, who is visiting New i Zealand in the interests of the Christ- ! ian Endeavour movement, drew laughter from her hearers when replying to speeches made at her official welcome to Christchurch, which was held in the Congregational Church on Saturday evening. Miss Street said that she had been told that Christchurch was the most characteristically English city outside of England. It had been said to her that in Christchurch she would feel that she was at home. But she could not feel this when her eyes revealed to her so many things that were not to be seen in England.
