GENERAL DAWES RECEIVED BY KING.
MEETING ARRANGED WITH MR MACDONALD. (United Press Assn. —By Electrlo Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, June 16. General C. G. Dawes accompanied by Mr Arthur Henderson, Foreign Secretary, went to Windsor Castle yester day. They were driven to the castle in a picturesque landau with outriders. The new Ambassador was received in the Audience Chamber by his Majesty, with whom he had a long chat, and kissed his hand on appointment. General Dawes said that he was delighted with the King, who looked so well. General Dawes departed for Scotland by the night train. All eyes are on Forres, where he has been invited to have lunch with Mr MacDonald, in the historic mansion Logie House, that belongs to Sir Alexander Grant. The latter is the old friend and admirer or Mr MacDonald, who gave the Prime Minister a motor-car in 1924. 3\lr MacDonald will be entertained at dinner by the Lossiemouth Town Council on Tuesday, and on the same night General Dawes will speak at the Pilgrims’ dinner in London. —Australian Press Association.
