FAREWELL SOCIAL AT LISMORE.

A social was held at Lismore on Saturday night, when the many friends and neighbours of Mrs J. C. Bell and Miss Ada Bell met to bid them farewell. Mrs Bell and her daughter have lived in the district for twenty-two years and are leaving to take up their residence in Sumner on Tuesday. After games of bridge and a dainty supper, Mr J. A. Fleming presented Miss Bell with a roll of notes as a token of esteem from her friends. He mentioned the kindly hospitality always shown by Mrs and Miss Bell and their good works in the cause of charity and especially their Red: Cross work during the war. Mr Norman Orr, in expressing his regret at Mrs and Miss Bell’s departure, said it would be Sumner’s gam. He hoped the change would be beneficial to them both. On behalf of the Parish of Hinds, the vicar, the Rev E. Hanna, and Mr Graham Scales, said Mrs and Miss Bell would be greatly missed. It was mentioned that Miss Beil had been organist for seven years.
