SUMMER TIME FUNDS HANDED OVER TO N.Z. INSTITUTE.

Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, June 34. At a meeting of the “ Summer Time " Appreciation Committee it was decided to hand over funds amounting to not less than £SOO to the New Zealand Institute. The funds were donated mostly by shilling subscriptions by’ those who de sired to express their appreciation of the passing of the Summer Time Act. It is proposed to use the amount to provide a medal to be known as the “ T. K .Sidey Summer Time Medal," to be presented at intervals of some years, together with a monetary prize for the best contributoin to our knowledge g{ light in relation to human welfare. With regard to the re-enactment of the “ Summer Time" measure it was decided to leave the whole matter in Mr Sidey’s hands to act in any way he considers most desirable, having regard to the state of the new House on the question.
