CATHEDRAL SQUARE.

To the Editor. Dear Sir, —The latest decision in connection with the Cathedral Square squabble may be described mildly as the “height of* the ridiculous." The weak-kneed attitude of the Save the Square Committee representatives — combined with the dog-in-the-manger attitude of the Tramway Board and the City Council’s customary disregard of the wishes of those opposed to its scheme—has resulted in the present situation. We are, of course, worse off than ever. _ The restoration of the Godley Plot is not sufficient compensation for the absurd cluttering-up of the Square with two shelters. Surely those with the future dignity of the city at heart will not allow this utterly disgraceful scheme to be carried out. And may the “ Star " carry on the good fight!—l am, etc., DISGUSTED.
