TOWNS NOT SCARED BY “BLACK BOGEY.”
CAPE TOWN, June 14. The results are filtering through slowly. The towns refused to be scared by the “ black bogey ” and have solidly backed General Smuts. The Labour Party have lost 9 seats, the South African Party have gained 9, and the Nationalists have gained 2. The position of the parties is: — South African 40 Nationalist 19 Supporters of Colonel Creswell 4 Supporters of the National Labour Council 3 It is probable that Labour will hold the balance of power.—Australian Press Association —United Service.
