Piles of grass clipped from the water’s edge were dotted along the river bank from the Manchester to Madras Street bridges to-day. The men who had collected them had a half-holiday. A small boy spent a happy time hoisting the bundles into the stream. He appeared to be firmly convinced that he was doing a public, service.
