ELLERSLIE GALLOPS. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, May 30. There was beautiful weather for the final gallops at Ellerslie this morning and a large attendance to watch the work, which was most interesting. The No. 1 grass track w’as open and hurdles were erected on the outside of the course proper, while the steeplechase course, including the hill, was also in use. The going was heavy. On the No. 1 grass, the trestles were out 6ft. Corinax, Thursby, High Pitch and The Lover were first to work, finishing over a mile in the order named. The time was lmin 49 4-ssec, the final six taking lmin 23sec. Thursby got the worst of the start, but finished on well, while Corinax made a most creditable showing. Kingfield sprinted home from the half-mile post in 53sec, looking in good order for coming engagements. Cool Mint and Kawainga jumped away together at the six furlong post, running the first two furlongs in 27 2-ssec, and completing the distance in lmin 22sec. Cool Mint u*ent exceptionally well and defeated his companion by several lengths.

Bright Land and Golden Wedding were sent over a round, .which they traversed in lmin 59 3-ssec, the last mile in lmin 51 2-ssec. Golden Wedding was several lengths ahead. Odin was timed to run a circuit in 2min 3sec.

After breakfast, Bisox and Otairi strode over a round in 2min 3 3-ssec, the last six in lmin 25 3-ssec, going very comfortably. _ Hoariri was a shade in front of Taneriri at the end of six furlongs in lmin 22sec.

Eager Rose, with Theodolite to assist over the first part, ran seven furlongs in lmin 36 3-ssec.

Te Money was holding Dark Prince safely over six furlongs in lmin 25sec. Bahama, Respirator and Brampton finished in that order over six furlongs in lmin 23 l-ssec.

Seatown, Keddar and New Moon jumped away at the five furlong post and ran home in lmin 9sec, the last “ t a k in g 53 l-ssec. Seatown and Keddar both went well and finished together, with New Moon several lengths away. Maidos and Vexatious ran seven furlongs in lmin 44 l-ssec.

Overhaul was going better than Maunga at the end of a round in 2min b 4-ssec.

Roman Pear! defeated Dismond Queen over five furlongs in lmin 8 4-ssec.

Welkne worked very freely over seven furlongs in lmin 36 l-ssec. Lady’s Boy, Mountain Guide and Royal Seagull finished as named over five furlongs in lmin Bsec. Pikimai did a round in 2min 10 1-osec. Maori Boy, Killute, Otranto and Bizarro were in that order at the end ° f tf, even furlo “BS in lmin 36 1-Ssee. Black Duke and Oration jumped off ahead of Hipo at the six furlongs post, the first-named finishing in front of Oration and running the distance in lmin 21 2-ssec.

Vallar and Dave went the last halfmile in 54sec, Vallar doing the better Kauri Park, Master Doon, Master Clements and Kamehameha were sent over a mile and a quarter, the last round taking 2min 6 3-ssec. Kauri Park was in front of Master Doon, with the other pair a length away. Valkon ran the last half mile in 56 4-ssec and Modest Boy the last five fur longs in lmin 13 3-ssec.

Atapai jumped away at the half-mile post and was galloping particularly well when he slipped and came down at the top of the straight. Arikitoa and Value were on terms over six furlongs in lmin 23sec. Roman Abbey was sent a mile and a half, and completed the last half-mile in 56sec This horse locks very well. Ripon Abbey ran the last six of seven furlongs in lmin 26 2-ssec, and Chelone five in lmin 7 3-ssec, the last half-mile in 53 4-ssec. The gelding is in capital condition. Good Boy ran six furlongs in lmin 24 l-ssec nicely. The Jumpers. On the course proper, Mister Gamp (Hobson) and Comical (Burt) were associated over four hurdles. Comical was soon in front and stayed there until after the third fence. Mister Gamp then moved up and was on terms at the last hurdle, the time being lmin 25sec. They afterwards ran seven furlongs on the No. 1 grass in lmin 41sec.

Sleepy Sol (Burgess), Cybele (Sav age) and Locarno (M’Donald) started out over five hurdles. Sleepy Sol wai the leader till the top, where Cybele fell at the fourth obstacles Locarno was on terms with Sleepy Sol before the last was reached, the pair taking the obstacle together. Locarno was going the better when the post was reached.

Lady Spalpeen (Sharkey) was too good for Glenotus (Stanway) over four hurdles in lmin 33sec. They afterwards ran half a mile on the No. 1 grass in 56 2-ssec. Karamu (M’Gregor) went over two hurdles in the centre and afterwards ran six furlongs on the No. 1 grass track in lmin 29sec.

Clockwork (J. Burgess) was given a similar task and afterwards went a round on the No. 1 grass track In 2min 9sec.

Harbour View (Watson) was also schooled over two hurdles and jumped well.

On the steeplechase course, Master Arch (Olive) jumped the fences on the flat in good style. Red Fuchsia (A. M’Donald), Mountain Crag, Town Rambler (Monkley), Young Thurnham (Regan) and King Fame (Ruthven) started out over the sod wall and afterwards took the double stone wall and brush, continuing up the hill and jumping some fences on the flat again, with the exception of King Fame, who went over the water jump. Red Fuchsia, Young Thurnham and Mountain Crag were the leaders all the way, Red Fuchsia finishing in front of Mountain Crag, with Young Thurnham. King Famfc and Town Rambler next. Red Fuchsia im pressed with the time of 2min 54 3-ssec Boomerday (Svme), King’s Guard (Mr J. Smith) and Wedcjing March (L Dulieu) were companions in a similar task. Boomerday led from King’s Guard till the top of the straight, where the trio pulled up. Zircon was a bit sore and cantered twice round.
