NEW ZEALAND COMPANY WITH MILLION TURNOVER.

MR NORWOOD PIONEERED IT AS FAR BACK AS 1911.

Few New Zealand companies have so far achieved the magic million in annual turnover, but this applies to the Dominion Motors, Ltd., now one

of the leaders in the automobile industry in this country. When Mr C. J. B. Morwood, in 1911. pioneered the establishment of the company which ultimately became The Dominion Motors, Ltd., there could have been few who shared his foresight in the future of his venture, or the expansion of the automo-

tive market. To-day this company, with its head office at Wellington, has nine branches and sales and service representation at over eighty different points. It is New Zealand-owned and New Zealand staffed, the staff numbering over 300, all either New Zealand born and bred or otherwise of British origin. The assembly plants at Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch turned out no fewer than 2400 cars last year The company holds the New Zealand concessions for Rolls-Royce, Hudson Essex, Armstrong-Siddeley, Stutz and Daimler cars.

Mr C. J. B. Norwood, the managing director, in addition to his activities with The Dominion Motors, Ltd., has an impressive record of public service He was for many years a Wellington City Councillor, and was Mayor of. Wellington during the visit of the American Fleet, and later, of the Duke and Duchess of York.

While a member of the Wellington City Council he inaugurated the municipal milk scheme. He is also largely responsible for the establishment of the Wellington free ambulance, and is an active member of the Chamber of Commerce, Wellington Harbour Board. Wellington Industrial Association, and Board of Health.
