STORE SHEEP SHOW DECLINE IN PRICE.

QUALITY OF FAT SHEEP IMPROVES AT ADDINGTON

Store sheep met with a dragging sale at the metropolitan weekly market at Addington yesterday. In the case of store lambs, the drop in price was from Is 6d to 2s a head on last week’s rates. Only good forward ewes and good wethers maintained last week’s prices in the stores department, the rest of the adult sheep suffering a decline in price of from Is to Is 'd. Except that the yarding of fat lambs was much larger than last week, there was nothing particularly striking about the markets in general. Four hundred and fifty fat cattle were forward, compared with 550 in the previous week. Keen bidding at the start gave place to an easing tendency, though prime handy weight steers maintained their late values, and in some cases improved on them. Heifers sold well.
