DIRT-TRACK RACING AT ENGLISH PARK.
On Saturday afternoon there will bo a programme of dirt track racing at English Park, commencing at 2.15. Prior to the big Charity Cup football match the best of the local broadsiders will be seen in action in the ’•Richfield” Handicap, an event of six races. The track is in excellent order, and the riders have improved greatly since the. close of the speedway season last Easter. Many of the local cracks have had special machines made or imported, and several of these will be used next Saturday for the first time in public. Such riders as Jack Carter (Horsman Special). Wal Thomas (special dirt track Triumph), Norman Neill (10M Douglas), Stan. Russell (Norton), and Freddy Sharman (Sunbeam) should make the racing interesting With the improved riding shown in recent practice and the special machines used, it is expected that the existing track record will be lowered during the afternoon.
