BURGLARS GET £3OO FROM DRAPERS.

STRONG ROOM AND SAFE WERE FORCED OPEN. Per Press Association. NEW PLYMOUTH, May 27. The premises of C. C. Ward, Ltd., drapers, were entered on Friday night and just over £3OO was stolen. Next morning the strong room door and the safe were found open, and the cash contents were missing. There was nothing to indicate how the building was entered, but it is thought that clever burglars were at work. Notes and coins were taken, all cheques being left. Two cash registers were rifled without damage to the mechanism, showing that the thieves knew, or discovered, the combinations of the locks. It is now revealed that a Hawera establishment was recently robbed of goods and £9O.
