CANTERBURY LEAGUE EXECUTIVE MEETS. The executive of the Canterbury Rugby League met last evening, Mr J. K. Worrall presiding. Mr R. M’Gloin, of the Addington Club, was appointed senior delegate to the centre. Mr L. Amos was appointed delegate to the annual meeting. The New Zealand Rugby League advised that the following remits are to come up at the annual meeting on April 20: — “ That in the case of visiting teams, any one centre shall not be penalised more than two playing Saturdays in the one season for such teams to play in their town.” The* delegate was given a free hand in the matter. “ That the appointment of selectors for the New Zealand Rugby League shall be made irrespective of representation by League or representation by the Council.” The delegate was instructed to oppose the remit. “ That it be impressed on the New Zealand Rugby League the amount of propaganda work done by the Auckland League and point out to the council that more assistance should be given to new’ leagues.” The delegate was instructed to move as an amendment that the w’ord “ weaker ” should be substituted for The treasurer reported that the gate takings at Monica Park last Saturday were double the takings for the corresponding day last year.
